10 Luxurious Expensive Backpacks For Men That Are Amazing

Have you ever made use or came across expensive backpacks for men? Did you notice any difference or similarities between the expensive and the inexpensive? When I mean expensive, I mean backpacks from luxurious brands. I am not talking about backpacks that cost below $100 but for those that cost over $1000.

An expensive backpack

There are some of us out there that don’t buy products that are not from prestigious high-class brands. These type of brands mostly target customers that are from rich backgrounds. I mean how often have you seen a Louis Vuitton product selling below $100.

If you have come across such then there is a high probability that you got yourself a fake. Even Louis Vuitton Products on sale cost above $100. Such expensive products are not for those afraid to spend money. They are for those that are willing to have products just because of the brand behind the product.

Have you ever made use of a Gucci backpack? How did it feel when you told someone that your backpack is Gucci made. I bet it felt great because not a lot of people can afford to buy a Gucci backpack.

Now don’t get me wrong because I am not implying in any way that buying low-cost backpacks is demeaning but what I am trying to say is that there is a feel to buying backpacks from luxurious brands. It gives you a sought of high class feel that can make you feel on top of the world.

There are expensive backpacks for men as well as for women but my focus on this post would be on that for men. Most of these backpacks can also be used by women but I just decided to make the theme of this post geared more towards men.

How did I come about this list? It was pretty simple because all I did was to go to youtube and searched for luxurious brands. I also performed a little google search. Some of these brands I was aware of while others I wasn’t too familiar with. After identifying some really luxurious brands what I did next was to check if they also produced backpacks and voila, I had my list.

How we all see these brands differ so I decided to create the list in no particular order. Some of us might be familiar with these brands while some others might not be too familiar with them. They have their own unique designs but what they have in common is that they are luxurious and expensive backpacks.

Josh Damier Graphite Canvas | Louis Vuitton’s

According to Louis Vuitton’s website this particular design was invented in 1888 by Georges Vuitton and was reintroduced by Damier Ebène in 1998 and it has been one of their major successes which led to different patterns of this particular design with DAMIER GRAPHITE canvas been one of them.

It was crafted from signature Damier canvas with refined cowhide leather trim. Its clean lines and simple style distinguishes it from other backpacks. Its compact design makes it roomy and yet lightweight and it suits the lifestyle of men always on the go.

This is a pretty expensive backpack for men and it, therefore, came with guidelines on how to take care of it and I bet this guideline applies to most of the backpacks on this list.

  • Ensure not to scratch or rub the product against abrasive surface especially the leather trim.
  • Keep backpack away from damp or humid environment and make sure you avoid exposing it to direct sunlight and any direct source of heat.
  • Avoid any material that may transfer their colored pigments unto the backpack.
  • Keep backpack away from water and never use soap on the backpack. If for any reason water comes in contact with it use a lint-free, light-colored absorbent cloth to wipe the water.
  • Store backpack in the protective pouch provided if the backpack is not in use.
  • Use a soft-colored light cloth to wipe the linings of the backpack if it gets dirty or in case of superficial stains.

Fun Fact

When I wrote a post on some really amazing backpacks for women I did some research on some backpacks that were amazing and while researching I came across an article that wrote on Louis Vuitton regularly burning their unsold goods.

I was surprised at this and had to do further research to find out if it was true. I found out that it was actually true and Louis Vuitton actually does burn their unsold products. Apparently, this was done in order to prevent putting lower prices on them.

Louis Vuitton is a luxurious brand and doing this actually makes their products become scarce which means they would actually be able to control demands and their goods won’t end up flooding the market.

Large backpack with LA Angels patch | Gucci

It would be pretty strange mentioning luxury brands without mentioning Gucci. There are some brands known in most countries around the world and Gucci is one of them.

They were originally into leather goods and sold in just a store shop before they were transformed gradually into what they currently are making them the most valuable Italian brand.

An image of a Gucci backpack

This brings me to one of their recent products in the backpack industry which is Gucci’s large backpack with LA Angels patch. This creative design was inspired by the Creative Director’s New York Yankees baseball hat. Gucci incorporated a mix of Major League Baseball teams into the Cruise 2019 collection.

It was made in Italy and it is displayed on Brick red and beige Original GG canvas with a black mesh back. It has three front zipper pockets with four side zipper pockets with 2 on each side. It has an interior padded compartment where your tablets and similar sized items can be placed.

As at the time of writing this post it was priced at $2100. If you are able to find an original Gucci backpack for less than $1000 please let me know because I don’t think I have ever seen one that cost less than $2000.

Cityback 27 Backpack | Herme

When I saw the price of this I was like damn this is one expensive backpack for men. They are a French high fashion luxury manufacturing company established since 1837. Priced at $8450 the Hermes City Backpack was made with taurillon Maurice leather and it comes with adjustable straps, zip closure, and palladium plated hardware.

As I said, this is a pretty costly bag and requires special care so you can get your money’s worth from the backpack. With that said, I took the liberty to include exactly how to take care of this backpack and all this information was gotten from leather care instructions from Hermes City Backpack sales page.

  • Protect your product from prolonged exposure to intense light and heat which may alter the color.
  • If for any reason the product comes in contact with water, wipe immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth as this would help prevent the formation of stains and blisters.
  • Keep your product away from materials that can leave marks on the product and some examples are ink (markers and pens), oily products (makeup and lipstick), perfume and alcohol-based products.
  • Avoid repeated contacts with raw or dark textiles as this can have an undesirable effect on the leather of the product.
  • To preserve the shape of the product do not overload it or put items that are irregularly shaped into the backpack.
  • Do not use the product every single time. Give it some rest to preserve its original beauty.
  • When you are not making use of it please store in a temperate, dry environment away from light if possible it should be placed in its original box or dust cover.
  • Place tissue paper or bubble wrap inside to maintain its silhouette and make sure all the zippers are zipped and straps attached.
  • Do not make use of anti-humidity sachets, as they have a drying effect on leather.
  • The best way to have your product cleaned is to have it cleaned by expert Hermes craftsmen. Contact the Hermes after-sales service if you have any questions or concerns.

Technical fabric and Saffiano leather backpack | Prada

Prada is one of the most sought-after luxury brands. When they were established, they were initially only into the production of leather goods but in the 80s the brand was expanded to include signature nylon bags which made them rise into high fashion. This particular black technical fabric made with saffiano leather has inside pockets with one stitched to the side and the other with a zipper.

There are three zipper pockets outside the backpack and adjustable straps with the backpack having a padded back.

Explorer Backpack Graffiti | Balenciaga

It’s shoulder straps are adjustable and it comes with a top handle which can be used to hold the backpack if you decide not to wear it. It has a zip pocket at the inside of the backpack, at the front of the backpack, and also a top ended double zip fastening.

Take a closer look at the leather and you would realize that this is real lambskin leather. Just make sure whenever you clean the backpack that you wipe with a soft clean cloth. Don’t immerse in water unless you wish your backpack not to last as long as it is meant to.

Extra Large Rucksack in Nappa Leather | Burberry

Burberry Group is a luxury fashion house that has its headquarters in London, England. Founded in 1856, their brand has a distinctive British identity that sets them apart from their competitors.

I was going through their collections and this extra large rucksack caught my attention. Its design was inspired by military archive bags. It is a leather-trimmed backpack with coastal dreamscape print collaged together from a collection of antique etchings.

It has a leather top handle and also comes with adjustable shoulder straps. There are three exterior zip pockets, one interior slip pocket, and one zip pocket. It makes use of press-stud and drawcord closures. Its edges were hand painted and its metal hardware was polished.

This seems to be a common trait of expensive backpacks. They like been hand sewed by professionals instead of the usual using of machines and it seems some people actually prefer a backpack when it is hand sewed.

Black Nylon and Leather Backpack | Fendi

Another luxury Italian fashion house that produces fur, ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, fragrances, eyewear, timepieces, and accessories. They were founded in 1925 in Rome and are now renowned for its fur and fur accessories.

One of their standout products in their backpacks for men is this black nylon and leather backpack. Its design makes it spacious and it is fastened with a long coated water-resistant zip that fastens on the sides with press-studs. It has a mesh back and there are two external side pockets on the backpack. It also comes with adjustable shoulder straps to make the backpack more fit.

As at the time of writing this post it was priced at $1690. To know the current price you would have to follow the procedure explained at a later part of this post.

Dior which is owned by Christian Dior SE is a European luxury goods company.which was founded in 1946. The Christian Dior’s label largely produces items for women although the company also operates a special division for men which is called the Dior Homme Division for men.

One of their backpacks that really caught my attention was this backpack with checked motif. It was designed with black nylon and smooth black calfskin. It was cut with white dyed edges and it has flap pockets one inside and another outside the backpack.

It comes with adjustable quilted straps in black nylon with black calfskin trim. Its handle is also in black calfskin with black nylon trim and the backpack can be carried with either our hand or on the shoulder.

Velvet Backpack with Chevron Motif and Leather Details | Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani is famously known for producing menswear and they are one of the most remarkable Italian fashion designers of this present generation. The company Armani was formed in 1975 and they design, manufacture, distributes and retails haute couture.

A Gorgio Armani Backpack

Armani designs are sometimes known for their somewhat unstructured looks which is what got my attention on this Giorgio Armani’s Velvet backpack. This was crafted from Velvet and boost the iconic Giorgio Armani chevron motif. Its style is enhanced by contrast leather and metal details and it has dual zip closure and internal pockets.

City Backpack In Calfskin | Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent SAS, also known as Saint Laurent is a French luxury fashion house founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé. They were founded in 1961 and are considered one of the world’s most prominent fashion houses and they are known for their modern iconic pieces.

An image of a Saint Laurent

They have several amazing backpack designs but the one that stands out to me is their city backpack in calfskin.

It features a Saint Laurent embossed zippered pocket on the outside. It also comes with adjustable shoulder straps and a handle with a removable strap. It has the Saint Laurent Paris-Engraved ID plate engraved on the backpack and a headphone port is on the upper part of the backpack.

A Simple Guide on How to Purchase These Products.

I intentionally did not include links to the sales page of these products listed on this page so if you intend to purchase these products I would suggest you get it from the official website of the brands listed.

You can do this by simply typing in google the brand name, click on it and then copy the name of the product from this post and place it into the search bar provided on the homepage of brands listed in this post. You should be able to locate the product when you do that.

If you are not able to locate it that way your second option would be to copy the name of the product and just paste it into google search bar. Whatever results displays make sure the brand name is attached to the url of the product page you decide to click.

Sometimes the official website of some brands might not have the brand name attached to the URL. You need to be sure of this by performing a little investigation. For example, the official website of Saint Laurent does not have the name Saint Laurent attached to their website instead their URL has “ysl” as the name on the URL.

Some websites are that way so you need to know this when performing your search.

It is best to buy these products from their official websites as you would get the best price and also you would be able to speak with their customer care unit.

I don’t advice you buy products this expensive from any other place other than the official website of the brand. If you wish to purchase the exact same product use the picture of the product on this page to locate it after following the procedure above.

There are more expensive backpacks for men that are not listed on this post that are just as awesome but this post could accommodate only 10. Buying expensive bags has its advantages and it is totally up to you to make the decision on getting one.

I do not mind purchasing a backpack that is fairly expensive from Amazon but if it is as costly as those listed on this post then I would advise that you get it directly from the official web page of that particular brand. All the backpacks listed in this post are over $1000 and you would need an extremely high-quality product for such an amount.

The brands listed here are all luxurious brands that are known for selling expensive quality products and they have been in existence for quite some time with some dating back to 1800s.

Their products are of the highest quality and producing products that would last a long time is a very important factor for them.

These are all awesome products and if I am to pick a favorite I would go for the Dior’s checked motif backpack. It just has a sought of different styling that I find appealing.

I would like to know what you think about this list and which of these luxury brands are your favorite. Also, if there is any brand you felt I did not include in this post you can identify it in your comments below. I look forward to reading your comments.

  1. I like the LV checkerboard backpack type of style. It looks very elegant and has a fine finish to it. The expensive backpacks are often asthetically pleasing such as the LV’s.

These would make perfect gifts for someone special. I would buy one for my wife, but that’ll be in the near future.

    Thank you for these reviews.

  2. These bags are really lovely and catchy. As a man I really love backpack, a portable one precisely. Well as you said some backpacks are meant for those born with the silver spoon unlike the common man who is trying to balance and manage his income. They are really cool but I may not be able to order for any of this. I hope you understand. Thanks anyway

    1. These are luxury backpacks that were specifically targeted towards the rich. I too would also love to get my hands on these because they are simply amazing but that would be done when I have enough to spend on these in the near future.

  3. I have always thought that there are some products where additional expense for quality makes sense. In all the cases of the backpacks for men that you have highlighted, the quality is there if you get the original versions. I am in Dubai, and you will find the fake ones too often here.

The problem is that people buy them for the brand and the look, and they do not mind paying less to have people talk about their bags. They have worked very hard here to eliminate the fake bags and with reason. They are stealing the brand recognition to make money by offering a low-quality bag to people.

Regarding the bags that you have reviewed, the two that most appeal to me is the city backpack in calfskin from Saint Laurent and the black nylon and leather bag from Fendi. Both of these look sturdy and functional, and yes I would be proud to have people talk about them!

It was a nice touch to have people go directly to the websites of the brands, I think other people will too. This was a good review and I found it very useful for selecting my next bag, thanks very much for your effort.

    1. Thanks Dave for your comment. It is best to buy these sought of expensive luxury backpacks directly from the company so as to avoid purchasing a fake. If the price was lower then I could buy from other places but for prices like this, you would be safer buying directly from the brand’s official website.

  4. Since I started to go to University I was looking to get a better backpack for myself. It is good that I came to this site because I think I have found the style and the exact backpack I need. I really like the Cityback 27 BackPack. I like its style. It is so classy and it has this rich look I needed. The price is also very affordable for me. I’m definitely going to order this.

Thank you so much for the rundown of these backpacks.

    1. If you are to make the purchase Sujandar I would advise that you purchase it directly from the brand’s official website as I have explained above.

  5. I really agree with you that buying backpacks that are luxurious makes one feel as if he/she is on top of the world. Amongst the backpacks you listed, the Cityback27 is my favorite due to its own unique design quite different from others, (one must be at least a Millionaire to get this at $8450). I must commend the author of this article for putting together such a wonderful article borne out of a thorough research as these brands are not ordinary brands one can just get anywhere as they are all far above $1000.

    1. Thank you Dapoach for your comments. These are some really expensive backpacks. Perhaps if you are to go for a less press backpack, I would consider going for smart backpacks as they are the recent trending style of backpacks.

  6. ooohhhh, wow.  This post made me screw my nose up the entire time.  Not because of the writing but because I really struggled to see the value in spending over $1000 for a backpack.  Thinking about it though I think that is due to the fact that I was looking at it in terms of how I use my backpacks – namely to fill full of sports, fishing, beach or riding gear.  It gets treated harshly and usually needs a good wash or hose out once a month.  I just cannot see the justification in spending that much on one that I would do that to.

But if I think about it in another way, in terms of travel – a real passion of mine – I guess it starts to make a litttle sense.  I have learnt very quickly that when you travel, you certainly get what you pay for – and luggage is no different.  I have one expensive suitcase ($500) and one cheapy ($80).  The cheapy is just so much more difficult to work with – it falls over, doesn’t wheel straight and the zips jam from time to time.  I am thinking that a more expensive backpack may work in the same way.  Fit easier into aircraft spots, sit better, feel better on the back and smooottthhh zips.  Hmmm, you have definitely given me something to think about.

    Thanks… Paul

    1. Hey Paul, some of us don’t really like the idea of going for expensive backpacks and sometimes feel that they are not worth it. But most of the time, we get what we pay for and an expensive backpack can be of a higher quality than lesser priced backpacks.

  7. I am not a good backpacker. After reading through your review, it’s giving me new perspectives. I always wanted to go for something that is less expensive, which I believe most people would do. But your article well expressed to the readers that there are far better bags on the market that are worth our money if we only know the details of each bag and you have just done that on this review. There are tones of backpackers who may be looking for description of good backpacking bags and you have done well by giving them that. Great review!

  8. Hello; Backpack is a trending product sold everywhere these days. I am not one of the rich folks, however, I am an advocate to the Gucci products, which include the backpack.

If you are someone who does not become disgusted at having a product for a long time, The shelf-life of the product will take precedence over the price.

  9. Oh my God! These suggestions on this list speaks nothing short of luxury. Wow! Simply awesome selection of bags. Seriously, backpacks can serve as a way of restoring confidence to an individual. Knowing you have a sophisticated backpack that comes in handy with both fashion and utility is always a great turn on and I must say boldly that all suggestions on this post are awesome but I reiterate my interest in the Black Nylon with Checked Motif and Black Calfskin Backpack Dior. Wow! It’s simply awesome with that total aura of uniqueness and elegance with its black color. I love the look of that backpack.

  10. This are all really nice backpacks. For me, i usually just stick to antitheft bags which are also not really cheap too. I have a friend who loves the Gucci products and buys everything from the brand, travelling bags, footware, clothes and everything. I think to go all out for an expensive product, you must first like the brand. My favourite in your list is the graffiti bag, if I have enough money, I’d definitely go for it.

    1. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment Henderson.

To spend on expensive products it is important to be aware of the track record of the brand as not everyone would trust a brand they have never heard of.

  11. I did not even know that they made backpacks that cost over a $1000.  I spend a lot of money in certain areas but not for backpacks or for items just because they have a certain brand name.  I buy quality because of its durability and functionality not for the brand name.

I am familiar with some of these brands, and I understand the feel of a high quality product as I loved custom made suits when I was in the mix of a business career that required one to look the part.

I like the style of the Balenciaga but my favorite is the Josh Damier Graphite Canvas by Louis Vuitton.  It’s good to know that these brands offer such a wide variety of high quality products.  It’s always better to go for quality when making a purchase of a desired item for not only the pride of ownership but for its longevity and endurance.

Thanks for this in-depth review on these products.

  12. I always believed that you can either afford something or you cannot. The bags are fantastic and are a fashion accessory to say the least. I am a fan of backpacks and a decent high quality bag is a must as it helps when hitting the town, to store your stuff and to look good.

  13. Thanks for this great post!

I’ll admit, I’m the kid of guy that goes with he $39 laptop bag from Costco usually.  That said, there’s something to be said for getting what you pay for.  My Costco bag lasts one to two years tops before it’s time to replace it.

I have to say, these bags look pretty good and some of them offer the compartments/organization that I look for in a bag.

It used to be that these prices were outside of my budget but, as time has passed and my professional life has gone pretty well, that’s no longer the case.  You know what?  I’m going to take a closer look at these.  It’s about time I got a high-class, high quality bag.

    Thanks again,

  14. Thank you for your post. It is informative and educational. My wife has a series of Louis Vuitton bags, each of them costs thousands dollars. She told me that there are also men’s bag series and I don’t believe her. I don’t know why men need to carry such expensive bag.

Here comes your article. I see your video on Louis Vuitton unboxing – Josh Damier Graphite Canvas. It is an amazing product, the design, the style, and the package etc. I guess the product like this is not for daily use, but for collecting as souvenir? The value of such product will certainly increase with time passing since the products are very limited.

It is kind of you sharing this educational information with us.
